Being a writer isn't always easy. In fact, it's rarely easy. Especially when you are just starting out, and a major portion of life is staring at you from behind. Most people usually have hopes and dreams. Some work really hard to make them come true. Some work really really hard to even have just a small chance at making them come true. I fall in the category of having just figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I've worked at many different jobs over the course of my 46 years on this earth, of course, it hasn't really been all of 46, because I was not filling out applications from my crib! But I do know that of all the jobs I have had, being a struggling writer has been the most fun. Yes, I know. The key word is "struggling", but I am finally doing something that I love to do. That I WANT to do. There is a quote by my favorite singer, Billy Joel, that I read at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland. He said, "If you are not doing what you love, you are wasting your time".
I don't want to waste my time anymore. I may not find great success. Who knows? But I will not lay down and bury my dreams in the sand without giving it a hell of a try. Even if I have to pour coffee at Tim Hortons to keep this dream alive, then let me take your order...;)

Being an artist is tough, but always an adventure. I can relate to much of what you're saying. Be encouraged that you are following your passion and that will always be the right decision. So many people just have their regrets because the work involved pursuing the dream is too much for them to take. The work IS the dream.

It is most definitely an adventure! Finding the time to immerse oneself in that world is challenging, but it's fun when it happens!
